Very entertaining. Leaves you swaying back and forth between two possible interpretations which is always kind of fun. Loads of melodrama--it's all London slums and opium dens and lime pits and overcrowded cemeteries and rather horrific entities lurking about Wilkie Collins' house.
Very much enjoyed Wilkie's envy and bitterness about Dickens' (The Inimitable's)talent and public acclaim (and money). Some nice moments of snideness.
